This information is made available through various maps and web pages. Responsibilities
The GIS department is responsible for
- Creating rural property addresses.
- Implementing GIS applications for other departments.
- Maintaining Tax Parcel data.
- Making maps and online mapping applications.
- Managing geospatial technology and information.
- Preparing and sharing data with the public and outside agencies.
- Providing GIS data for NG-911.
- Providing technical support for GIS services.
- Supporting emergency management operations.
- Training staff on the use of GIS software and applications.

Steele County has adopted a Resolution establishing Open GIS Data.
