Steele County Board of Commissioners Meeting Schedule
The Steele County Board of Commissioners holds its regular meetings in the evenings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. Please note that the first meeting in January is an exception. As required by state statute, it is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January. All meetings take place in the Steele County Board Room, 630 Florence Avenue, Owatonna, MN.

Subcommittees, Advisory Boards, & Commissions
The County Board operates under a committee system. Each Steele County committee is composed of two Commissioners (non‑quorum) and the Department Heads associated with the committee’s subject area. Committees focus on specific topics and provide recommendations to the Board of Commissioners, as they do not have independent decision‑making authority. Minutes from committee meetings are included in the Board Packet for informational purposes.
