Steele County Public Health has been serving the residents of Steele County by providing Home Health Care since 1948. At that time, Steele County was the first county in Minnesota to offer home nursing care supervised by a county agency. Steele County Public Health received Medicare certification as a Home Health Care agency in 1966. It is one of the 5 remaining counties in Minnesota that continue to provide home health care services.

Providing nursing support through:

  • Assessment
  • Health Education
  • Blood Pressure Checks
  • Catheter or Bowel Care
  • Nutrition Counseling and Meal Planning
  • Medication Management
  • Wound Care
  • INR & lab draws
  • Injection administration and/or education
  • Assistance in adjustment to an illness, such as obtaining equipment, supplies, and referrals
Receive care from a Home Health Aide or Homemaker for: 
  • Laundry
  • Meal Preparation
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Bathing/personal care
  • Walking
  • Transferring
  • Home Exercise Program
  • Light housekeeping
  • Reading
  • Social Companionship
Available in-home rehabilitation and exercise programs for all age groups.
