Inmates at the Steele County Detention Center have the ability to contact friends and family via our telephone service provider.  All calls are subject to a $0.21 per minute fee.

Calling options available to inmates:

  • Placing a Call to friends and family: This feature requires the inmate to have available funds on their account to place their call.
  • Indigent Calling: All inmates who are indigent are given 10 minutes of call time per week at no fee.

  • All calls not listed as private attorney calls are subject to recording and monitoring by Detention Center staff.

Telephone Access for the Hearing Impaired 

The Steele County Detention Center offers phone access to detainees who are hearing impaired through Purple VRS. 

Inmates at the Steele County Detention Center can request this service at no fee.
